Program Analyst, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Grant Programs Directorate, 2008-Present. During my time with FEMA I have deployed to the National Response Coordination Center (NRCC) as the Documentation Unit Leader in the Situational Awareness Section. I worked in the NRCC for Hurricanes Irene, Isaac, and Sandy, the Moore, OK tornados, and numerous other events.
Bachelors Degree, Emergency and Disaster Management, American Military University, February 2012. Yes, I may be the very last of our class to receive an undergraduate degree.
For hobbies, I enjoy genealogy, history, travel, Irish Pubs. target shooting, and antique fire apparatus. I currently own a 1973 Seagrave Pumper which was previously owned by the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company.
At Saint Patrick's Day Parade March 2016, standing on the back of McLean Engine 1, a 1971 Peter Pirsch. This pumper and I have a history of sorts, as in July of 1973, I was on the back, where I am standing when we were T-Boned by a cinder block truck. Needless to say, I was thrown off the back, slid across the intersection of Anderson Dr. and Chair Bridge Road, and was covered with cinder blocks. Fortunately, I only received minor injuries and the pumper was repaired.
Karen and Julia Kloft, our German Exchange Student, standing near the Memorial for Sophie Scholl, member of the Nazi resistance group, The White Rose. At University of Munich.
Yea!! I finally did it! Graduation from American Military University, Bachelor of Arts Emergency and Disaster Management, May 2012, Gaylord Convention Center, National Harbor, MD. Niece Jenny, and my wife Karen.
